~Mabel was one beautiful strong woman. She moved with my grandfather to small town in Oregon to start a new business. She was a Christian woman involved in her Church teaching Sunday school well past retirement age. She made recycling cool even before it was a catch phrase. After my grandfather died, she moved back to her native Charleston South Carolina again becoming active in her church using her sewing skills to make aprons and pillows for the holiday bazaar. All this with severe arthritis in her hands. She survives hurricane Hugo and had the tales to tell my kids. So glad they had the chance to enjoy their great grandmother
